Tonight I got to go see Mr. Talmage at the hospital again...this was my 3rd chance since he was born to go see him. For those of you who don't know his story. He was born May 22nd and had a very traumatic birth. He had been swallowing and breathing meconium (baby poop) for a couple days previous to birth, so his lungs were completely full and not capable of operating. He was care flighted twice...once to Dell Childrens and then to a hospital in San Antonio b/c Dell Children's was not able to handle the severity of his situation. He was put on an ECMO machine (warning: if you google search it, be warned that the pictures are hard to take in) for a week and had major internal bleeding as a complication. The doctors said he was within an hour of dying. This was over 6 weeks ago and this little trooper has pulled miracle after miracle. He is now looking down the home stretch of his stay in the hospital (hopefully) and is just doing AMAZING compared to the 1st time I saw him in San Antonio.
Renae and I took this little video this evening and if anything can melt a heart...this certainly can...especially when you know how close this little guy was to leaving us! Enjoy!!
SIDE NOTE: The dinging in the background was his machines starting the alarms b/c we were getting him so riled up :) He was a happy guy!!
