Catch-Up Again

So the summer seems to be keeping us on our toes and busy. Here's what's been going on in the last couple weeks:
The boys a couple Sundays ago decided to bake me a cake while I took a nap. Mark and John did most of the work and Jacob did most of the screeching and giggling. This is John sampling the work...they made an amazing pineapple cake with cream cheese, coconut frosting. Yum Yum!!!

Jacob also got to finally finish his birthday M&Ms and he was one happy kiddo:
You'll notice the arrow pointing to a red mark on Mark's forehead. Well during family wrestle mania on Sat last week, Jacob decided to follow in his Uncle Kevin's footsteps and pulled a Jim Hacksaw Duggan on Mark and "clocked him" (as John has been saying) in the forehead with a wooden puzzle. Family wrestle mania abruptly ended. Jacob is currently 14 months old...which brings me to the next picture...
This is a picture of Mark and I when John was 14 months old and he had "clocked" me in the nose one afternoon with a plastic toy and cracked the bridge of my nose open...kind of hard to see in this pic...it's the best I could do.

SO, my advice to all out there...watch out for those 14 month olds...they know what they're doing even though they look sweet and innocent and bat those gorgeous big eyes at you!
Lastly, we had a great 4th of July! We started the day off by doing a shopping cart relay through the grocery store with the million other people shopping for the day's festivities. After that mad dash, we headed down to the Salt Lick for some good ol BBQ with the rest of the Allen clan. Sadly I have forgotten my camera EVERYWHERE lately...so you'll have to create your own visual. After this, we all came home and took good snoozes and then headed to a friend's house to eat dinner (more BBQ) and hang out. After that, we headed up to Georgetown to watch the fireworks with some friends. Here are a couple pics of the boys playing before things got started. The boys both LOVED the fireworks...except at one point John did tell everyone that he did not like fireworks because "sometimes they burn me." But he had plenty of "ooo's" and "ahh's." Jacob LOVED the show...he would say, "WOW" and start clapping his hands. He also liked the freedom of being in a big open field and being able to run around with the big boys.
That's about it for us for now. We have lots of adventures coming up so stay tuned!!
